How to Check If the Used iPhone is Stolen Before Purchasing?

If you are going to purchase a used iPhone, please read this part carefully. We will tell you how to avoid purchasing a stolen iPhone, and also give you some tips.
    1. Use the Stolen Phone Checker

The Stolen Phone Checker is designed to reduce the amount of stolen mobile devices. This website currently is just available in America.

Go to Stolen Phone Checker on your computer or mobile device.

Click on "Consumer" on the left side.

Enter the iPhone's IMEI, and click "Submit".

If it appears "Not reported lost or stolen" on the screen, that means your iPhone's IMEI number has not been reported as lost or stolen.
    2. The Things You Need to Check Before Purchasing

You should also check its ability and performance of the used iPhone. Here we offer you some tips you should concern.

    1. Check the Battery Life

It would be a great hassle to change a battery, so you should check the battery life at first. You can view the maximum battery capacity on iPhone. If the battery health is decent, the percentage should approach 100%. Go to "Settings > Battery > Battery Health".

    2. If There Have Screen Passcode.

If the iPhone asks for a digit passcode or Face ID/Touch ID, that means the owner has set a screen passcode. You should ask the seller to turn off the screen lock. If you have bought a locked or disable iPhone, don't worry, iMyFone LockWiper can unlock the screen passcode perfectly.

    3. Check If the iPhone is Locked to Certain Carrier

Insert your SIM card to the iPhone to restore the internet. If the iPhone does now allow access to the cellular network with your SIM card, you may get a stolen iPhone. Since the iPhone is still linked to a certain carrier, you should ask the carrier to unlock it. You may need to pay a certain fee for the unlocking service. Also Read:how to stop apps running in background

Apple’s Mastered for iTunes is now Apple Digital Masters

    Verizon's Apple Music logo
Apple has announced a new initiative called “Apple Digital Masters.” Earlier, the company was running a program called Mastered for iTunes. It seems like Apple has rebranded the Mastered for iTunes into Apple Digital Masters.
Mastered for iTunes aimed at preserving and offering high-quality audio. With this program timeless albums from Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and others sounded better. The engineers apparently used a set of guidelines and tools to optimize their music for the digital download format. In other words, the program strived to create studio-quality sound files with quality comparable to the master recordings. Essentially Apple is grouping all the Mastered for iTunes albums and calling it Apple Digital Masters.
Apple explains that most of the top releases are Apple Digital Masters and this mainly includes songs from Top 100 and other charts. It is worth noting that iTunes will be replaced by an Apple Music app on macOS Catalina.
That being said Apple is yet to add a lossless music library. Perhaps they can charge more for those of us who want lossless songs. In 2015, Tidal had offered a Hi-Fi subscription tier which was priced double the regular subscription. Spotify seems to have experimented with the idea as well. The company sent promo messages that promised lossless, hi-fi quality audio at $5 premium a month. Meanwhile, Amazon is expected to offer its hi-fi service later this year.

How to see if a song is an Apple Digital Master

Apple has never made the distinction between usual songs and the Apple Digital Master song visible. However, you can right-click and check the file info. Hopefully, Apple will also make it easier to identify songs that are given an Apple Digital Master treatment. If you lost data after you updated to a new iPhone, you can always use Gihosoft iPhone Data Recovery to get the data back from the old iPhone or backup. You may also like: iphonerecovery.com

iPhone Sales on the Rise in China Again, Could Plummet Back Due to Trade Tensions with the US

iPhones have been a very popular offering in China, as opposed to a lot of other western products. The App Store is also the biggest software store in China due to the Play Store being entirely banned from the Asian country. However, iPhone shipments to China have been slowly staggering over the past year.

Apple’s Tim Cook has commented on the matter saying that sales in the region are improving and the company has cut the price of their products to boost sales. According to UBS, iPhone performance improved during the month of April compared to previous months where sales were down a catastrophic 66% in comparison to the previous year.

According to UBS analyst Timothy Arcuri, sales have improved thanks to the easing tensions between the US and China:

One of the reasons Apple CEO cited for China improvement was increased consumer confidence due to easing of US-China trade tensions. However, in recent days, trade tensions have escalated and it bears watching whether this affects China consumer sentiment.

Unfortunately for American companies, the Trump Administration has increased tariffson Chinese-imported products. This could mean that not only could this worsen US-China relations even more but that costs of iPhones could increase once again as a lot of the parts in iPhones are Chinese products. Not only that, iPhones are actually manufactured in China. The Chinese government could respond with similar tactics and directly hinder iPhone sales by making them unprofitable for Apple without charging absurd prices.

Currently, Apple is not affected by the tariffs but this could change at any moment, proving a disastrous case for the Cupertino company.

U.S. Trade Judge Rules Apple Infringed on Qualcomm Patent, Recommends Ban on Some iPhone Models [Updated]

Apple and Qualcomm are currently tied up in court as Qualcomm tries to nail down patent infringements made by Apple.

Update: Apple did not run afoul of the same judge in the second ruling handed down today. The same judge ruled that Apple did not infringe upon a Qualcomm patent related to power management. This is the second of three patents being seen in this case. Unfortunately for Apple, this second ruling does not impact the first at all.

    The original article continues below.

Of course, the proceedings have not necessarily been civil, as the two companies go back-and-forth trying to win the day. And while Apple has seen some movement in its direction in the past, the latest ruling from a trade judge in the United States is decidedly in Qualcomm’s favor. As was first reported on Tuesday by Bloomberg, International Trade Commission Judge MaryJoan McNamara has ruled against Apple, saying that the company has indeed infringed upon a patent held by Qualcomm.

The judge ruled in favor of Qualcomm as it relates to just one of the three patents that are put against the ITC court. At the time of publication, Apple has yet to comment on the ruling, but it’s likely the company will soon enough. What’s more, while Judge MaryJoan McNamara has recommended a sales ban on certain iPhone models in the United States, it is likely that the decision will have to be reviewed before any ban is actually set against Apple.

It is also likely that the decision will only impact older iPhone models, and won’t have any connection to the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, or the iPhone XR.

This is not the first time that this particular court battle has resulted in this outcome. In China, Apple was hit with a sales ban. However, that particular patent infringement case dealt with software and not hardware. As a result, Apple updated iOS to address the issue and circumvent any sales ban in that region.

Meanwhile, in Germany, Apple was hit with a sales ban that definitely went into effect. However, Apple is going to sell iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 models with a Qualcomm chip inside to bypass that sales ban in that country.

Whether or not this sales ban in the U.S. actually sticks, or if Apple makes changes to address it ahead of time, remains to be seen.
    Our Take

This is a fight that is not going to end anytime soon, even if both companies would probably like it to. Still, it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out in the future, and what that means for the relationship between Apple and Qualcomm when the dust settles.
We Want To Hear From You

Do you think Apple and Qualcomm will come to amicable terms when this all ends? Or will the two no longer be working together in the future?
